Seven massive gates and a 36-kilometer perimeter wall protect the Kumbhalgarh Fort complex.
Built in the 15th century by Maharana Kumbha, these stone defenses kept the fort largely unconquered. The outer walls span 36 kilometers (22 miles) across the Aravalli Hills at an elevation of 1,100 meters (3,600 feet). You will pass through a series of fortified gateways, known as pols, to reach the main precinct.
